                       Full Moon in Virgo
                              Ice Moon
The February full moon is also known as the Crow Moon, Storm Moon, Snow Moon, Hunger Moon, and the Big Winter Moon - please know that there are many other names for each full moon, it depends entirely upon the source and tradition.
Usually in the month of February much of the Northern Hemisphere is experiencing icy conditions...however, with global warming the atmosphere and our Mother Earth is changing at an alarming rate.  For this post we will stick with the Ice Moon.

The moon will enter into Virgo at 6:24 am and she will become completely full at 1:20 pm EST.  I just went out on the front porch and gazed awhile at this very icy and cold looking moon (though not completely full) here in old Salem Towne.  The atmosphere is unusually calm and the cloud's are whispy and flowy creating a lovely frame for our lunar goddess.  This is a time of year to renew your commitment to yourself and to your deities.  It is a rather quiet time and for me that is the time when I can "hear" very clearly.  I can hear the whispers of instructions and guidance along with advisement on how to deal with situations with grace and dignity.  Perhaps if you become quiet and still you will "hear" too!

It's a good time to purify vibrations by removing negative ones and inviting positive ones into your space and life.  Prepare your environment, mind, body and spirit to become receptive to positivity.

The Virgo moon is ruled by Mercury, it is feminine, dry, barren, and earth energy.  This is a good time for analyzing data, situations and relationships.  It is also an excellent time to care for your animals (not that you don't) but an especially good time for training and getting check ups.  This moon is also good for carrying out decisions that have been made regarding work and future plans.  Try to keep looking at the forest and make sure that though trees are lovely,  that they don't get in the way of the forest.  In other words keep your eye on the larger picture and the grand scheme of things no matter what your particular situation is.  Patience is needed however try not to focus too much on details.  In Laurie Cabot's Book of Spells she states, "The Crow Moon is a time of mystery and majick, of endings and the potential of new beginnings.  It is a great time to get psychic insight into the coming growing season, or to do majick for unusual and strange things that would not normally work at other times in the year."

I hope you all enjoy this quiet time, a time to curl up on the couch and read, write or do handwork.  Time to get your thoughts and plans together (and on paper) for spring is right around the corner and all things new rapidly approach.  You will need focus, energy, receptiveness, and skill...it's going to be one heck of a spring everyone!

                          Choosing the Path

I am still compiling mountains of information/research for the upcoming "Tarot" post...not to worry folks the first post will be published in a couple of days.  The full moon post will be published later today...just fyi.

Since I have been buried in research and reviewing data from the beginning of my path to present many issues have come to mind that I feel compelled to share BEFORE we begin this journey together.  Oh yes, the last post there was over 400 views of this blog!  Thank you everyone for viewing and if you would like a certain subject or issue to be addressed please do not hesitate to message me via Facebook.

It is very important to understand that following the path of mysticism, paganism, and especially the Wiccan path, that this is a lifelong commitment.  I am referring to one that has been "called" by deities to serve, or if there is a burning desire that just won't go away.  A thirst for knowledge, an un-satisfiable hunger, in short a yearning to "know" to experience, to feel, to grow, and most importantly to help others.  That means people, animals, our Mother Earth and ALL her inhabitants.  When you agree to co-create with your Gods/Goddesses to make our world a more beautiful, inspiring, kinder and gentler place to exist (for that IS our role)...then you are ready for this journey.  For that IS our role.   It is must be understood that becoming knowledgeable about astrology, astronomy, alchemy, climatology (which also covers planetary cycles and in-depth study of all things Earth) spirit connection/interpretation, Tarot, crystal therapy, candle magick, as well as spells and rituals - is essential.  I have barely skimmed the surface here. The point being, all these things are connected and let's say you have an important spell that needs to be cast, knowing Void of Course, planetary position(s), cycle/season of earth, phase of the moon, etc., etc., amps up your chances of a successful spell with the desired outcome.  I ALWAYS do research and fortify myself and my space with all the above, to assure maximum success accompanied by the highest level of outcome possible.  You can perform these actions without this prior fortification but the success and outcome of what you are striving for diminishes significantly. I'm not saying it is impossible to achieve success without prior preparation...but I am saying it is highly desirable (on many levels) to prepare.  It is also the responsibility of oneself to study, study, study.  So many times I have heard people voice discontent about professors and/or teachers about their lack of knowledge and/or skill(s) after classes.  Here's the deal folks, it is the responsibility of the instructor to show you, tell you, and share their knowledge and experience.  What you do with it is TOTALLY up to you.  For those of you who have attended universities, you know as I certainly do, a Professor will tell you once...after that it is up to the student to study, do assignments, papers, etc.  That's it, end of story.  If the work is not done it is you that will have to deal with the consequences, whether it be a low grade or not knowing how to set up an altar...it is ultimately YOUR responsibility.

Full Moon post coming tonight :}

New Posts

The Project Manager is now in receipt of all MWS stories and is editing the last two!  YAY!  Since all photography is complete I have some time before we go into ultrarapid speed of the final phase of the project.

During this time I will utilize this blog to help some folks out.

After spending the evening with international friends last week, I have agreed to begin a series of posts to share research findings, teachings and the experiences I have had over the last several decades on this metaphysical/magickal path that I have been on.  Because my friend's have limited access to internet sources and written materials are even more scarce, I have agreed to share this information via this blog since they can access it from abroad.  I know all too well what it's like to be "hungry" for direction, guidance, and knowledge when you live in a suppressed society.
I will first be sharing the history of the Tarot...a path of twists and turns with a wide variety of opinions and theories were shared with me over the years.  However, two things I ALWAYS question are opinions without concrete evidence and anything and everything that is man made.  This belief led me to research and find out for myself documented and verifiable facts regarding the Tarot.  I began in 1975 and have just recently completed my research and am just now personally satisfied with my findings.
Future posts will address Freyja, astrology/astronomy/climatology, runes, crystal magick,  pagan and wiccan paths, and other subjects as they make themselves known and want to be addressed.

I feel I should acknowledge the incredible people that guided me on this path.  My Mother introduced me to psychics and crystal magick in 1970.  Beginning in 1975 a circle of lifelong friends introduced me to the following - Marcia Mai was all things astrology and spirit work, Cricket was the IChing and hedge witch, Ginger revolved around mind-body-soul work with candle magick.  After 10 - 15 years Marcia Mai then introduced me to runes which led me to Freyja of course.  My grandmother then found through genealogy in England that we are descendants of the Norse Norman tribe - 300 a.d. Edward the Conqueror, the Black Knight.   At that point I was hooked on all things Viking and Freyja herself.
My friends were all 10 to 20 years older than me...I was the baby of a group of 10 and now the sole survivor.  How extraordinary it was to be surrounded by such power, knowledge, wisdom, and I don't think it's a stretch to say these women were a bit dangerous.  I was protected, spoiled, and loved...wow, how lucky was I?

The first post will publish this week.
